In this role, you'll:
Work as part of the Safety, Policy, Environment and Regulation Division, you'll lead a team of specialists (x6) to develop and deliver policy frameworks, legislative reforms and strategic initiatives that support Transport for NSW's future priorities, for multi-modal freight (rail, ports and roads), rail passenger policy and regulations - influencing decisions that matter across NSW.
The team leads policy and reform initiatives that support key NSW Government priorities including decarbonisation, transport mode shift and zero road trauma through legislative, regulatory and strategic policy reform. Key priorities include implementing the Freight Policy Reform Program, changes to the Ports and Maritime Administration Regulation and Rail Reform.
As a Senior Manager you will provide trusted strategic advice trusted to senior executives, influence policy outcomes across government and drive complex policy programs from concept through to implementation, review and continuous improvement.
Ultimately, you'll play a key role in shaping rail, freight and port policy in NSW, ensuring policy and legislative reforms deliver meaningful outcomes for customers, communities and the broader transport network.
The role will be based in the CBD , alongside a 50% monthly office attendance requirement and the ability to attend the Minsters office as required.
It is embedded within the team’s established ways of working and supports collaborative delivery.

About you
You will possess the following experience:
- Experience leading policy development, legislative reform and complex policy programs within government or a highly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of government processes, legislative frameworks and public policy development.
- Proven ability to provide strategic policy advice to senior executives and influence decision-making across stakeholders.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering policy outcomes in complex environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills, including working across government.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, solve complex problems and deliver outcomes within statutory and regulatory frameworks.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
