Your Graduate Year at Avina
n
Your first year as a Speech Pathologist should be about developing your clinical identity, building confidence and having people around you who you can turn to when you're still figuring things out.
n
Our 12-month Graduate Program provides a structured pathway from university into clinical practice, beginning with a 9-week onboarding and gradual caseload ramp-up.
n
You'll Be Supported Through

- Reverse shadowing and supported sessions as you transition into independent practice

What You'll Learn
n
You'll have opportunities to build your capability across a diverse range of Speech Pathology practice areas depending on your location, caseload and interests, including:

- Speech and language assessment and intervention

What You'll Be Doing
n
You'll deliver evidence-informed, person-centred Speech Pathology services across community, clinic, home, school and telehealth environments.
n
Your caseload will build gradually as your skills and confidence develop, with ongoing clinical support available throughout your graduate year.
n
Meet Your Team - Port Pirie
n
You'll be joining a small, close-knit regional team based out of our Port Pirie office. Caseloads here typically lean heavily paediatric, with a smaller adult component. You'll work across the full lifespan across both clinic and community settings including in client's homes, schools and SIL/SDAs.
n
Clinicians from our Adelaide-based teams also regularly travel out to Port Pirie as part of their own roles, so you'll get the chance to meet and work alongside them in person on a regular basis. Day to day, you'll also stay connected to our wider SA network through Microsoft Teams.
n
It's a supportive team well suited to someone kind, curious, self-motivated and comfortable asking for support.

What You'll Bring

- Degree in Speech Pathology completed or nearing completion
n
- Speech Pathology Australia membership or eligibility
n
- Interest in community, disability and person-centred practice
n
- Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn

- Robust communication and organisational skills
n
- Driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain them
