Bibra Lake WA | Hands-On Technology Leadership | Standalone IT Function
n
Schnits Frozen Foods is a well-established, family-owned food manufacturing business based in Bibra Lake. We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded It Manager to establish and lead our internal information technology capability.
n
This is a rare opportunity for a mature technology professional who can set direction while remaining genuinely hands-on. Initially operating as a one-person IT function, you will bring day-to-day support and systems ownership in-house and build the foundations for our longer-term technology strategy.
n
About the role
n
Reporting to the General Manager, you will review the current outsourced environment and lead a staged transition to internal IT support. You will personally resolve day-to-day issues, administer core systems and manage vendors, while progressively strengthening infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience, data and technology planning across the business.
n
Key responsibilities
n
Review outsourced IT services, contracts, access, documentation and recurring support issues.
n
Develop and implement a staged transition of day-to-day IT support and administration in-house.
n
Provide responsive support across users, devices, printers, connectivity, Microsoft 365, shared drives and business applications.
n
Manage user onboarding, offboarding, permissions, equipment, licensing and IT asset records.
n
Maintain networks, cloud services, telephony, endpoints and business-critical systems.
n
Manage technology vendors, contracts, procurement, licensing and service performance.
n
Strengthen cybersecurity controls, backups, disaster recovery,
incident response and business continuity.
n
Develop a pragmatic technology roadmap aligned with business growth and operational needs.
n
Lead systems, integration, automation and technology-improvement projects.
n
Provide clear advice and reporting to leadership on technology risk, investment and priorities.
n
About you
n
Minimum seven years' broad experience across IT support, systems administration, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity and business systems.
n
At least three years' experience in a senior role with broad responsibility for an organisation's IT environment or technology portfolio.
n
Solid hands-on troubleshooting capability and willingness to personally deliver day-to-day support.
n
Experience transitioning services from an MSP to an internal model.
n
Experience working autonomously in a standalone or small-team environment.
n
Experience managing vendors, contracts, licensing, cybersecurity and business-continuity arrangements.
n
Robust project delivery, documentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
n
Relevant tertiary IT qualification or equivalent substantial experience.
n
Experience supporting manufacturing, FMCG, warehousing or multisite operations (desirable).
n
Microsoft, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, ITIL or project-management certification (desirable).
n
Newly created role with genuine ownership and executive visibility.
n
Opportunity to shape both immediate service delivery and longer-term technology strategy.
n
Broad and varied remit across support, infrastructure, systems and cybersecurity.
n
Reliable and growing WA family-owned business.
n
Convenient Bibra Lake location with on-site parking.
n
Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
