About the Role
Reporting into the Finance & Administration team, you will be the key point of contact for regulatory reporting (APRA, ABS, RBA) and Head Office reporting, while also playing a hands-on role in month-end close, reconciliations, and data governance and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and supervise end-to-end APRA/ABS/RBA reporting, ensuring full compliance and on-time submission
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, coordinating timely and accurate responses
- Monitor and analyse regulatory changes, identify data gaps, and advise on reporting system reconfiguration
- Own the regulatory reporting system, proactively identifying, documenting and escalating issues
- Assess the reporting impact of current products on systems and processes
- Maintain accurate process documentation, policies and file notes to substantiate reporting methodology
- Monitor and maintain data accuracy across the general ledger and regulatory reporting systems
- Lead and support data governance initiatives to strengthen reporting integrity, including data lineage, data quality controls and validation frameworks
- Identify, design and implement process automation and system enhancements to reduce manual effort, minimise reporting risk and increase data integrity
- Partner with Technology and Change teams to scope and test automation solutions for reporting and reconciliation processes
- Complete month-end close tasks, including accounting entries, adjustments and self-review
- Review daily bank reconciliations and daily reports, providing backup coverage as required
- Prepare and self-review intercompany reconciliations and supervise monthly intercompany adjustments
- Prepare and supervise timely quarterly, semi-annual and annual Head Office reporting, liaising directly on ambiguous requirements
About You
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Accounting or equivalent tertiary qualification, CA/CPA qualified
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting and regulatory reporting role, preferably within banking
- Strong technical expertise in accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory reporting systems
- Experience with Axiom is highly regarded
- Intermediate knowledge of banking and banking products
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Microsoft Word
