About the role
n
C.R.Mines Propagation P/L is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Wholesale Plant Propagation Nursery Staff to join our team in Park Ridge, QLD 4125. This is a casual position offering flexible work arrangements ideal for those seeking to gain experience in the horticulture industry or Working Holiday Makers looking to fulfill their 88-day or 6-month regional visa extension requirements (Subclass 417 & 462)

Key responsibilities
n
Assisting in the propagation of plants including seed sowing, striking cuttings and tubing up rooted cuttings
n
Preparing potting mixes and filling containers to specified standards
n
Watering, feeding and maintaining plant health throughout the growing cycle
n
Monitoring plants for signs of disease, pests or nutritional deficiencies and reporting concerns
n
Performing regular greenhouse and nursery maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organisation
n
Assisting with the packing and preparation of plants for wholesale dispatch
n
Operating and maintaining basic nursery equipment and irrigation systems safely
n
Recording plant data and maintaining accurate propagation records
n
Supporting the senior nursery team in meeting production schedules and quality standards
n
What we're looking for

A genuine interest in plants, horticulture and propagation techniques
n
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in outdoor and greenhouse environments
n
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high plant quality standards
n
Strong work ethic and reliability in casual work arrangements
n
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
n
Basic numeracy and literacy skills
n
Willingness to learn and develop horticultural knowledge and skills
n
Previous nursery, gardening or horticultural experience is advantageous but not essential
n
A relevant qualification in horticulture (such as a Certificate in Horticulture) would be desirable
