The Health Yoga Retreat is a current small, intimate yoga and wellbeing retreat being developed on a beautiful private property surrounded by approximately 100 hectares of forest in the Nymboida hinterland of northern New South Wales.

The retreat is designed around small groups of about 4 people and no more than 10 and personalised experiences rather than mass tourism. Programs may combine yoga with vegan food, meditation, philosophy, art, photography, massage, kayaking, bushwalking and time in nature.

The property includes forest, a large dam, orchard, vegetable gardens and extensive natural areas. It is peaceful and genuinely rural, while Grafton and Coffs Harbour provide the nearest major transport connections.

I am looking for the right yoga teacher to help establish the retreat and, if there is a strong mutual fit, potentially take on a significant long-term role as it grows. It is also my home. I live here. There is a large two storey 4 bedroom house and sheds that make up the retreat. Although the plan is to expand it with boutique tents, yurts, etc, and meditation hall.

The Opportunity

This is much more than simply taking several yoga classes each week.

I am looking for someone who would enjoy helping turn a new retreat into a successful and distinctive destination.

Your primary focus would be:

- teaching high-quality yoga classes for small groups and individuals
- helping design retreat programs and guest experiences
- digital marketing, social media and content creation
- helping generate bookings and build relationships with prospective guests
- communicating with guests before and during retreats
- helping coordinate the smooth day-to-day running of retreat programs

Someone with demonstrated experience marketing yoga retreats, wellness businesses, studios or similar experiences—and particularly someone who has previously generated bookings or customers—would be especially valuable.

Yoga Background





You should be a qualified yoga teacher with confident teaching ability and the capacity to adapt classes to different ages, abilities and experience levels.

Vinyasa or Ashtanga experience would be particularly welcome, but I am also interested in applicants who can add something distinctive: meditation, restorative yoga, hatha or vinyasa yoga, massage, breathwork, dance/movement, nutrition, art or other complementary disciplines.

Living at Nymboida

live-in position, so enjoying rural living matters.

Private accommodation and vegan meals are provided.

The retreat has reliable internet, and I can collect you from Grafton railway station or Coffs Harbour Airport.

Before anyone commits to relocating, I am happy to have video meetings and provide a detailed virtual tour of the property, accommodation and retreat facilities so that both of us have a clear understanding of the arrangement.

Time away from retreat responsibilities and reasonable personal privacy are important. Working expectations and days off will be agreed clearly in advance.

The Property

There are extensive gardens, an orchard, vegetable-growing areas and approximately 100 hectares of forest.

An interest in gardening and outdoor living would therefore be a real advantage. You should be comfortable occasionally helping with normal garden and property activities and working alongside volunteers.

You are not expected to be a professional groundskeeper. Specialist or heavy property work is separate from the core yoga and retreat-development role.

- would enjoy being part of a very small retreat rather than a large commercial resort

Longer-Term Potential

I am particularly interested in finding someone who may eventually want more than a short-term placement.

If the relationship works well professionally and the retreat grows successfully, there is potential to discuss a longer-term role involving greater responsibility, revenue participation and eventually possible involvement in the management or direction of the venture.

That is a future possibility rather than an expectation at the beginning. The first priority is simply finding someone with whom the retreat works well.

Work Rights and Travel

Applicants must already hold Australian work rights or be independently eligible to obtain an appropriate Australian visa or work holiday visa.

International applicants are responsible for their own airfare and travel costs to Australia.

Transport can be provided from Grafton railway station or Coffs Harbour Airport.
