The role involves managing the company's food safety and quality management system to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance and to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain business food safety and quality certification including HACCP, SQF and Primesafe and compliance to customer specific standards
n
- Continuous improvement of food safety and quality management system including implementation of necessary policies and procedures to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance
n
- Manage vendor assurance program to ensure both local and international suppliers supply safe and quality products as per customer requirements
n
- Manage customer complaint process including monitoring, investigating, identifying root cause, trending and reporting
n
- Build relationships with stakeholders (internal and external) by regularly communicating in matters relating to food safety, quality and seafood sustainability
n
- Keep product specification updated and ensure products are assessed for compliance to specification including microbiological testing, chemical testing and organoleptic assessments
n
- Approval and verification of artwork and packaging to ensure compliance with FSANZ Food Labelling laws
n




- Provide technical input into Recent Product Development process to ensure product conformance to legislative, regulatory and customer requirements
n
- Management of sustainable seafood through assessment of species to determine sustainability status
n
- Work with procurement to source sustainable seafood and ensure chain of custody for identification and traceability
n

About you

n

n
- Degree or equivalent in Food Technology/Science or other relevant discipline
n
- Significant experience in vendor assurance management in manufacturing or retail industries, preferably more than 3 years industry experience
n
- Comprehensive understanding of the requirements in the FSANZ Food Standards Code and relevant legislations
n
- Knowledge in Food Safety and Quality Standards e.g. SQF, HACCP
n
- Knowledge of seafood industry especially sustainable seafood
n
- Computer literate and proficient in using internet collaborative specification systems
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Mandarin
n
- Highly developed planning, organising and project management skills
n
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts amicably and professionally
n
- Commercial astuteness with ability to work at pace with stakeholders at all levels across the business
