About the Chance
Based at our Morningside Branch on Turrbal and Yuggera Country you'll receive structured training, mentoring and practical experience to help you develop the skills required to become a professional driver.
This academy has been developed to support our rapidly growing Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) operations across South East Queensland.
Successful candidates will commence in Rear Lift collection vehicles with opportunities to progress into Pantech and Hook Lift trucks as skills and experience are developed.
This is a highly competitive intake with just five positions available and recruitment is commencing immediately.

Participants will:
- Start in Rear Lift collection vehicles
- Progress to Pantech truck operations
- Progress to Hook Lift truck operations
- Build transferable driving and operational skills
- Be considered for future collections opportunities based on performance
High-performing drivers may be considered for ongoing collections and operational roles following the seasonal surge period.
What You'll Be Doing
- Learning vehicle operations and driving techniques
- Completing vehicle pre-starts and safety checks
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Learning operational routes and procedures
- Building confidence and capability under experienced mentors
What We're Looking For
- You don't need previous truck driving experience.
- We're looking for people who demonstrate:
- Reliability and attendance
- Strong safety awareness
- Willingness to learn
- Physical capability
- Interest in a long-term operational career
- Commitment and resilience
To be considered, you must:
- Hold a current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
- Have a minimum of 8 demerit points available on your licence
- Be willing to obtain a Heavy Rigid Licence if required
- Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment
- Be willing to complete drug and alcohol testing
- Be capable of working in physically demanding operational environments
- Be available for full-time Driver Academy training
