Where you'll be working

Located at Budyari Gamada, Blacktown Hospital, you'll join the new 20-bed Low Secure Forensic Mental Health Inpatient Unit, opening 13 October 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a contemporary service being established from the ground up, where your contribution will help shape the team culture, patient experience and day-to-day operations.

Working within Mental Health Services at Western Sydney Local Health District, you'll be part of a diverse and collaborative multidisciplinary workforce committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Be part of a new specialist forensic mental health service and contribute from day one.

Work alongside nursing, medical, allied health and administrative professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.

Support a service focused on recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and consumer-centred care.

Build strong working relationships across the Forensic Mental Health Network and Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.

What you'll be doing

As an Administration Officer Level 2 (Ward Clerk), you'll provide reliable and responsive administrative support to the clinical team, helping the ward operate efficiently while ensuring patients, visitors and staff receive a professional and welcoming service.

Provide front-line customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff, responding to enquiries with professionalism and empathy.

Maintain accurate patient information and records across iPIMS, SYNAPTIX and other electronic systems.

Manage patient files, documentation, clothing, property and ward administrative processes in line with organisational requirements.

Coordinate the delivery and collection of documents, pharmacy provisions, requisites and patient files to support effective ward operations.

Work collaboratively with the Nurse/Unit Manager and wider team to prioritise competing demands, resolve day-to-day issues and maintain a high standard of service.
