Your opportunity
In this role, you’ll take ownership of daily cafe operations, from food preparation to service delivery, ensuring residents and visitors enjoy a warm, welcoming and memorable experience.
As a Sous Chef at The Terraces, Paddington, you’ll play an integral role in creating high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents, guests, and community members. With a focus on food safety, quality, and service excellence, you’ll plan menus, coordinate café operations, and lead by example in a supportive and respectful environment.
With Professionalism And Creativity, You Will
- Deliver high-quality food and service to meet customer expectations
- Plan and coordinate café operations, including menus and stock ordering
- Proactively manage customer queries and provide timely solutions
- Maintain compliance with HACCP, WHS, and food safety regulations
- Monitor budgets, contribute to sales and marketing initiatives, and suggest process improvements
- Lead and support café staff through on-the-job training and teamwork
What You’ll Bring
You’re a passionate and experienced chef with a flair for customer service and teamwork. You thrive in a hospitality workplace where quality, safety, and client satisfaction are paramount.
What’s Required
- Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum four years’ experience in the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene,
and HACCP standards
- Excellent communication and literacy skills
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
- A collaborative and positive approach to leading and supporting others
What’s Preferred
- Experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments
- An understanding of service environments where customer experience is key
- A passion for creating food experiences that bring people together
