Our client is a growing specialist insurance business with a robust presence in the commercial market. As the business enters its next stage of growth, they are looking for an Operations Administrator to join their commercial bonds team.

This is a hands–on role managing the administration of a portfolio of commercial surety bonds, working closely with underwriters, brokers, clients and other stakeholders.

About the Role

You’ll take ownership of the full bond administration lifecycle, from initial request and issuance through to invoicing, variations, reconciliations, reporting and release.

The role is central to keeping the portfolio accurate and running efficiently, while providing essential operational support to the underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end administration of commercial bonds, including issuance, variations, renewals, cancellations and releases.
- Review requests and supporting documentation, ensuring key details are accurate and requirements are met.
- Prepare bond documentation and coordinate electronic execution.
- Manage invoicing, credit notes, receivables and payment follow-up.
- Maintain accurate bond registers and complete regular reconciliations.
- Prepare portfolio, premium and exposure reports.
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and document management platforms.
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers, clients and other external stakeholders.
- Work closely with underwriters to prepare documentation, resolve administrative issues and keep transactions moving.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems as the portfolio grows.

- Ensure day-to-day administration meets internal compliance, risk and quality standards.

About You

You’ll be an organised, detail‑oriented and commercially minded professional who enjoys taking ownership and solving problems.

You’ll ideally have:

- 3–5 years’ experience in administration or operations within insurance, banking, financial services or a related environment.
- Experience managing high‑volume workflows requiring accuracy, judgement and problem‑solving.
- Hands‑on experience with invoicing, receivables and/or reconciliations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing with external stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies before they become issues.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced workplace.

Experience with surety bonds, bank guarantees, commercial property, leasing, credit, lending or commercial contracts will be highly regarded.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a specialist and growing business where you’ll have ownership of your work and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment where initiative, accountability, commercial thinking and continuous improvement are valued.

If you’re looking for a role where your operational expertise can make a real impact, we’d like to hear from you.
