Syntric is a leading PropTech business delivering technology solutions across the built environment. We work across the commercial, retail, residential and industrial sectors, helping organisations connect, secure and optimise the technology that underpins their buildings.
Our expertise spans Operational Technology, Networking, Cyber Security and IoT Integration, bringing traditionally siloed building systems together to create more connected, secure and intelligent environments.
Job Purpose
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, implementation and ongoing support of network and security infrastructure across customer environments.
This is a genuinely hands on role. You will work across network deployments, migrations, hardware installations, racking and stacking, cabling, configuration, troubleshooting and infrastructure upgrades, taking ownership of technical delivery from planning through to completion.
You'll work across WAN, switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs and network security, while also gaining exposure to OT, IoT and smart building environments including BMS, HVAC, CCTV and access control.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deploy, configure and support network infrastructure across customer environments.
- Plan and deliver network installations, upgrades, migrations and infrastructure refreshes.
- Rack, stack and commission network hardware and associated infrastructure.
- Perform network cabling, patching and physical infrastructure activities where required.
- Configure and troubleshoot switching, routing, WAN, VPN and firewall infrastructure.
- Support and deploy technologies including Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba and Meraki.
- Troubleshoot complex IP networking issues across customer environments.
- Implement network changes, upgrades and improvements with minimal disruption.
- Work directly with customers, site contacts, vendors and contractors during technical delivery.
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex network and infrastructure issues.
- Support endpoint security technologies including Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.
- Work with technology vendors and support ISO 27001 and Essential Eight requirements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records and SOPs.
- Take ownership of technical issues and project deliverables through to successful completion.
Who You Are
You're a hands on Network Engineer who wants more than a traditional support role. You enjoy getting into the technical detail, working on customer sites and being involved in the physical and technical delivery of infrastructure.
You'll have strong practical experience across:
- Routing
- Switching
- WAN
- VPN
- Firewalls
- Network Security
- Network Deployments
Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba or Meraki will be highly regarded.
You'll also bring experience in areas such as network migrations, infrastructure upgrades, hardware deployments, cabling or multi site implementations.
We're looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership of technical outcomes and communicate confidently with customers, engineers, vendors and other stakeholders.
Experience across OT, IoT, BMS, CCTV, access control or smart building environments will be advantageous.
What Success Looks Like
- Network deployments, migrations and infrastructure upgrades are delivered successfully.
- Customer network and security environments remain reliable, secure and well documented.
- Technical issues are identified, diagnosed and resolved efficiently.
- Hardware installations and site deployments are completed to a high technical standard.
- Projects are delivered with minimal disruption to customer environments.
- Customers receive transparent communication and strong technical support throughout delivery.
- Network resilience, redundancy and security are continually improved.
- Technical documentation and configuration records remain accurate and up to date.
- You develop strong knowledge across Syntric's IT, OT and smart building environments.
Why Join Syntric?
At Syntric, you'll work at the intersection of Networking, Cyber Security, Operational Technology and Smart Buildings.
This isn't a traditional enterprise networking role. You'll be involved in real infrastructure deployments, working directly with customers and gaining exposure to network architecture, security, OT, IoT and smart building technology.
Ready to Join Syntric?
If you're an experienced Network Engineer looking for a hands on role where you can build, deploy, migrate and support infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
