Role Description
The Support Worker role is a full time, on-site position based in Adelaide, SA. In this role, the Support Worker will assist participants with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, while promoting independence and choice. The Support Worker will support community participation by accompanying participants to appointments, social activities, and programs, and help them build skills for everyday life. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, following individual care plans, upholding safeguarding and safety protocols, and communicating regularly with participants, families,
and the wider care team. The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure continuity of care and a positive, person-centered experience.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform Support Worker duties, including direct client support, personal care, and assistance with daily living activities.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication skills to build trust, listen actively, and collaborate with participants, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding principles, duty of care, and adherence to NDS and organisational policies to ensure participant safety and wellbeing.
- Basic Technical Support and digital literacy skills to use care management systems, mobile apps, and reporting tools as required.
- Relevant qualification or working toward a qualification in disability support, community services, aged care, or a related field.
- Understanding of person-centered and trauma-informed support practices, with a commitment to respect, dignity, and inclusion.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work shifts, including possible evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- Current driver’s licence, National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
