Our services include 24-hour emergency care, public maternity care, Aboriginal pregnancy and maternity support through Moort Boojari Mia, acute mental health treatment and medical and surgical care.**Your role**We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Nurses to join our Diabetes Service as Diabetes Educators. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in both inpatient and outpatient diabetes management while working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment.Comprehensive orientation, mentoring, and ongoing professional support will be provided by the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant and Diabetes Service team, enabling you to build confidence in practice and deliver high-quality patient care. The successful candidates will also have access to supported credentialing as a Diabetes Educator.We currently have **one permanent part-time position**, working **2 days per week (8:00am to 4:00pm)**, as well as **one casual opportunity**. If you are passionate about diabetes care, patient education, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with diabetes, we encourage you to apply.**Key Responsibilities*** Provide support for the assessment, education, and management of inpatients and outpatients with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, gestational and steroid-induced diabetes.* Assist with blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration,



and patient education under the guidance of the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant.* Participate in diabetes-related group education sessions for patients and staff.* Collaborate with medical, nursing, and allied health staff to promote safe and effective diabetes care.* Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient records and contribute to discharge planning.**Essential Requirements**You will possess current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Education or significant progress towards attaining this qualification.You will demonstrate interest and experience in diabetes management and patient education, with the ability to support individuals in the self-management of their condition. Proven capacity to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, coupled with a strong commitment to patient-centred care and cooperative practice as part of a diabetes service team.
