Position Overview

n

This consultancy is growing a resources-focused delivery team and needs a technically strong Senior Civil Designer to help drive that expansion. This is a technical ownership role: you'll take complex issues that don't fit the standard solution and work through them, mentor junior designers, and help shape how the team delivers as it grows.

What you will be doing

n

n
- Designing and delivering complex civil projects across mining and resources, with geotechnical and structural interfaces
n
- Taking ownership of non-standard design problems working through site-specific issues rather than applying off-the-shelf solutions
n
- Preparing and reviewing design drawings, models and construction documentation
n
- Developing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with project scopes
n
- Ensuring designs comply with Australian Standards, Codes and client-specific standards
n
- Working confidently with both in-house and offshore design/drafting support to meet project schedules and budgets
n
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced designers to build technical capability across the team
n
- Contributing to workshops, training initiatives and business planning
n

What we are looking for

n





n
- Proven experience as a Civil Designer within mining or resources environments
n
- Strong working knowledge of 12D, supported by AutoCAD
n
- Strong capability in civil design and drafting for complex, multidisciplinary projects
n
- Experience preparing construction documentation and specifications
n
- Solid understanding of Australian design standards and regulatory requirements
n
- Comfortable being the technical point of contact in client discussions solving problems and presenting solutions rather than managing client relationships or business development
n
- Open and adaptable to working with offshore design and drafting resources
n
- A collaborative approach and a passion for mentoring junior designers
n
- Be part of a consultancy actively growing its Mining & Resources capability
n
- Work on complex, technically challenging resources projects
n
- Genuine flexibility on location the business isn't location-based, with team members across Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba
n
