Job Description:
The Graduate Project Development Manager supports the end‑to‑end development of renewable energy and power‑sector infrastructure projects. Working within the Project Development team, the role contributes to the seamless progression of projects from concept through to contract execution. The position integrates technical, regulatory, commercial, and financial inputs to help deliver effective, sustainable, and cost‑effective power generation and transmission solutions.
This role is ideal for a motivated graduate seeking to build capability across multidisciplinary project environments, stakeholder engagement, and commercial project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Coordination
- Support the management and delivery of a portfolio of infrastructure services, Early Works packages, and bid‑development projects within allocated budgets and timelines.
- Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, procurement, commercial, land, delivery, planning, environmental, stakeholder, and regulatory specialists.
- Contribute to the direct management of strategic network augmentation or major development projects as required.
Risk, Commercial & Contract Management
- Help oversee project development activities to ensure technical, commercial, and regulatory risks are identified,
assessed, and mitigated.
- Participate in the preparation and review of risk registers, mitigation plans, and commercial documentation.
- Support negotiation processes for upstream and downstream contracts under guidance from senior team members.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external partners, service providers, and government or regulatory bodies.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather inputs, resolve issues, and support project progress.
Project Tracking & Reporting
- Monitor, track, and report on project progress from early development through to financial close and contract execution.
- Prepare updates, dashboards, and documentation for internal governance forums.
Documentation & Governance Support
- Support senior team member to contribute to the development of inputs for management papers, Board papers, and commercial negotiations.
- Liaise regularly with internal specialists across legal, finance, engineering, commercial, planning, and environmental functions to ensure accurate and timely information flow.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Interest in renewable energy, infrastructure development, and the power sector.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to complex project environments.
- Exposure to infrastructure, utilities, or energy projects through internships or university projects.
- Understanding of project management principles and risk management.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in the energy or infrastructure sectors.
