Abbu Catering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food, coordinating kitchen operations and maintaining consistent food and hygiene standards across our catering services.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and develop menus suitable for catering requirements, considering food quality, variety, portion sizes and cost efficiency.

- Estimate food and labour requirements and coordinate the ordering of fresh produce, ingredients and other kitchen supplies.
n
- Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with recipes, menu specifications and customer requirements.
n
- Monitor the quality, taste, portioning and presentation of food throughout the preparation and service process.
n
- Coordinate with management and kitchen staff to ensure catering orders are prepared accurately and within required timeframes.
n




- Demonstrate appropriate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation and cooking procedures.
n
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with Australian food safety requirements.
n
- Monitor food storage, temperature control and stock rotation to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
n
- Assist with training and supervising kitchen staff to ensure consistent food preparation and service standards.
n
- Assist with the proper storage, preservation and handling of prepared foods where required.
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment at all times.

Qualifications

n

n
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not required).
n
- Diploma of Hospitality (preferred but not required).
n

n

Skills & Other Requirements

n

n
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef, preferably within a catering or commercial kitchen environment.
n
- Solid knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety practices.
n
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple catering requirements.
n
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
n
- Strong attention to food quality, presentation and consistency.
