This Isn't Your Typical Support Worker Role
As a Disability Support Worker providing Community Participation support, you'll help customers:
- Participate in outdoor and active pursuits
- Enjoy bushwalking and community-based activities
- Travel to Bathurst and other agreed destinations
- Participate in shopping and everyday community activities
- Cook and develop practical living skills
- Explore current experiences safely
- Build independence and confidence
- Strengthen community connections
- Make choices and work towards meaningful personal goals
This role involves working across different community and outdoor environments rather than from one fixed location.
We use a therapeutic, person-centred approach that focuses on strengths, capability building and helping people achieve their full potential.
We're Looking For People Who Are
Genuinely interested in outdoor activities and bushwalking
Active and comfortable participating in community-based activities
Experienced in disability or community participation support
Confident working away from fixed service locations
Reliable and accountable
Outstanding communicators
Safety-conscious and able to assess changing community environments
Adaptable and solutions-focused
Passionate about helping others build independence

This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys staying active, cooking, travelling, bushwalking and helping people experience more of their community.
You'll Need
- Previous experience providing disability or community-based support
- Willingness and physical ability to participate in agreed outdoor activities, including bushwalking
- Willingness and ability to undertake community travel
- Current Driver Licence
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in spoken and written English
