We’re looking for a Workers Compensation Case Management Specialist to manage claims and injury management activities, supporting positive recovery and return-to-work outcomes while ensuring compliance within a self-insurance environment. What You’ll Be Doing:
In this varied role, you’ll:
- Proactively coordinate and manage all aspects of an injured worker's notification and/or claim including claim management, treatment, rehabilitation and recovery to drive positive outcomes for both the worker and Busways
- Manage an end-to-end portfolio of workers compensation claims involving both physical and psychological injuries to deliver best practice claims and injury management services within our self-insurance framework in line with legislation, SIRA Standards of Practice and Busways' Injury Management Program
- Apply and communicate complex legislative requirements and workers compensation processes to meet both legislative and Busways requirements in relation to entitlements and benefits
- Early injury management planning in collaboration with injured workers and other key stakeholders to support recovery and return to work outcomes
- Provide expert advice on a range of workers compensation, injury management and recovery at work related issues and strategies to support workers, managers, operational leaders and other key stakeholders
- Enter accurate and timely claims management data to comply with SIRA's data quality requirements
- Uphold SIRA Customer Service Principles with a focus on early intervention and support to facilitate a "person-centric" claims management process
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in workers compensation claims management
- Experience working within self-insurance (highly regarded)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage complex or sensitive situations with professionalism
- Experience using Microsoft Office, with an ability to learn and work with workflows and Power Automate.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional approach when working with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive, autonomous and organised approach, with strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
- Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have valid, unrestricted working rights.
