Key responsibilities

- Install, repair, and maintain metal, tiled, and sheeted roofing systems on residential and commercial properties
- Measure, cut, and shape roofing materials to fit specific roof designs and structures
- Inspect roofs for damage, leaks, and wear, providing accurate assessments and recommendations for repairs
- Remove old or damaged roofing and prepare surfaces for new installations
- Safely operate hand and power tools, ensuring all work meets company and industry safety standards
- Install insulation, roof drainage systems, flashings, and skylights as required
- Read and interpret building plans, specifications, and job orders
- Work efficiently as part of a close-knit team to deliver projects on time and within budget




- Communicate clearly with clients and site supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction
- Identify and address potential hazards, maintaining a safe and tidy worksite at all times
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, company policies, and WHS requirements
- Conduct final inspections of completed work, ensuring a high standard of quality and durability
- Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order
- Stay up to date with best practices and new roofing technologies through ongoing training

Qualifications and skills

- Minimum 1 year experience as a roof plumber, with strong knowledge of metal and tiled roofing systems
- Relevant trade qualification or Certificate III in Roof Plumbing (or equivalent)
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications
- Sound understanding of WHS practices and commitment to working safely at heights
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Current White Card and valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Full Australian working rights (citizenship, residency, or valid work visa)
