Job Description

We’re looking for a commercially minded Category Manager to take ownership of a diverse spare parts portfolio within Bapcor Retail. This is a hands-on role with full accountability for range, pricing, promotions, supplier partnerships and inventory performance directly influencing sales, margin and growth across a national store network. If you enjoy a mix of strategy and execution and want real ownership in a high-growth business, this is a great next step.

Responsibilities

- Own the commercial performance of your categories end-to-end
- Build and execute category growth plans
- Manage pricing strategy and margin performance
- Analyse competitor pricing and market trends
- Own product range decisions (core + extensions)
- Plan and deliver promotions, campaigns and catalogues
- Partner closely with marketing on go-to-market activity
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations & rebates
- Optimise inventory levels across distribution centres
- Drive clearance and exit strategies for slow-moving stock
- Collaborate with internal teams and engage with franchise networks

Qualifications





What We’re Looking For

- Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in:
- Category Management
- Buying / Merchandise
- Product Management

- Background in retail, wholesale, or trade environments
- Exposure to managing multiple categories or SKUs
- Experience in automotive, aftermarket or spare parts
- Knowledge of supplier funding / rebates / trading terms

- Strong commercial and analytical mindset
- Confident negotiator
- Ability to turn data into explicit actions and decisions
- Solid understanding of pricing and margin management; inventory and demand planning
- Ability to balance strategy with hands-on delivery
