About the Opportunity
Join WesTrac as an Operator Trainer based from Dubbo, Bathurst or Tamworth NSW, you'll play a key role in developing the skills and capability of our customers and owner operators across a range of Caterpillar and allied equipment. Drawing on your operational expertise, you will deliver engaging training programs that focus on equipment performance, safe operating practices, machine technology and techniques that improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Working closely with customers across mining, quarrying, construction and other heavy industry sectors, you will build strong relationships while conducting training, assessments and onsite coaching. This is a hands-on role that offers variety, autonomy and regular travel throughout regional NSW, supporting operators to maximise equipment performance and return on investment. As a Caterpillar dealer you will have access to certification and training materials that isn't available to anyone else.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging operator training programs across classroom, practical and onsite environments.
- Conduct operator assessments and competency evaluations in line with company and industry requirements.
- Demonstrate equipment capability, machine technology and best-practice operating techniques.
- Develop, review and continuously improve training materials and course content.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key site stakeholders to support training outcomes.
- Promote safe work practices, maintain training records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience operating Caterpillar and/or other heavy mobile equipment.
- Previous experience as a Trainer, Assessor, Operator Trainer or in a site-based training role.
- Proven capability in developing and delivering training programs and learning materials.
- Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence operational behaviours.
- High levels of organisation, safety focus and willingness to travel throughout NSW.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) and a relevant Certificate III qualification. (desirable but not essential)
Experience within mining, quarrying, civil construction or agricultural equipment environments will be highly regarded.
