HOBAN Recruitment | Forklift Operators | $36.81/hr | Temporary Contract | Melbourne About the Opportunity HOBAN Recruitment is currently seeking experienced and reliable Forklift Operators to join our team for a major sporting event in Melbourne CBD from October 2026 to March 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale event, supporting the movement of equipment, materials and event infrastructure throughout the build, site readiness, bump-in, live operations and bump-out phases.

You will work closely with onsite coordinators, contractors, labourers and other event personnel to ensure materials and equipment are moved safely and efficiently across the event site.

About the Role

As a Forklift Operator, your responsibilities may include:

- Operating a forklift safely and efficiently across the event site
- Loading, unloading and relocating equipment and materials
- Moving pallets, event infrastructure, equipment and other materials
- Supporting event bump-in and site setup
- Assisting with the delivery and positioning of materials across designated work areas
- Supporting contractors, labourers and onsite teams with material movements
- Assisting with site preparation and pack-down
- Supporting bump-out and dismantling activities
- Conducting required pre-start and safety checks
- Following site traffic management and safety procedures
- Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
- Reporting any equipment, safety or operational issues to supervisors
- Following instructions from onsite coordinators and project management
- Working effectively as part of a large event operations team

About You

To be successful in this role,



you will have:

- A current and valid forklift licence
- Demonstrated experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, construction, logistics, events or similar environment
- Experience operating safely around pedestrians and other site personnel
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
- A reliable and punctual work ethic
- The ability to work effectively within a large team
- Physical fitness and the ability to assist with general site duties when required
- Flexibility to work across different stages of the event
- Previous major event or large-scale site experience is highly desirable

Project Timeline

This is a large-scale event project with opportunities available across multiple stages:

- Mid-October 2026 – December 2026: Event setup, site preparation and bump-in
- January 2027: Live event operations, supporting the event throughout the event period
- February 2026 – End of March 2027: Bump-out, pack-down and site reinstatement

Successful applicants may have the prospect to work across one or multiple stages of the project, depending on operational requirements, availability and experience.





Please note that shift requirements may vary across each stage of the project, with increased workforce requirements expected during key setup and bump-out periods.
