The role
Our Strategic Communications Directorate supports the Executive, portfolio Ministers, the delivery of the Government's priority areas and the enhancement of the LGIRS image and reputation as a world-class regulator.
Services the division provides include internal and external communications, communications campaigns and strategies, brand management, strategic communications advice, media strategy and management, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, and public relations and marketing activities for a wide range of programs and audiences.
As Manager Organisational Communication, your goal will be to provide direction and leadership to the Strategic Communications team, devising, implementing and managing innovative internal, external and stakeholder communication strategies, raising awareness and supporting the department’s programmes and policy work, as well as consistent brand messaging. You will also be a key team member in the department's crisis communication and reputation management.
On a day-to-day basis you could be coordinating central reporting responsibilities, preparing and delivering high-quality and effective communication products, liaising with internal stakeholders, Ministerial and communication staff to develop and implement communication strategies and coaching and mentoring your team, as well as other key tasks.
Your ability to communicate complex matters and generate accurate, well written and engaging content for specific audiences and purposes across a variety of communication channels will be key to your success in this role.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy,
it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department and across the WA public sector for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applicants with a valid visa to work and live in Australia for a specific duration may be assessed and considered suitable for similar fixed term vacancies that arise.
Should a qualification be required for this position, applicants must provide their certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements. Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be provided with an assessment from the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian Standards (this is a free service).
To be employed with LGIRS, you must meet the pre-employment requirements of the position and provide consent to undertake relevant pre-employment screening, which may include a Conflict of Interest Declaration, medical assessment, psychometric assessment, Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, and/or other relevant checks and clearances.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, including experience leading individuals and teams towards shared goals, and setting priorities in a deadline-driven editorial environment where rapid turnaround is often required.
