Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Nurse Practitioners to join the Community Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre and Emergency Department teams.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, Kilmore District Hospital and Mernda Community Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

This role requires an experienced and highly motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide advanced, autonomous, and collaborative clinical care across Northern Health’s Community Hospital’s Urgent Care Centres (UCC) and Emergency Department (ED)

The NP will play a key role in delivering high quality,



evidence-based care to patients presenting with a range of acute and urgent conditions, supporting timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge where appropriate.

This position is instrumental in leading clinical innovation, advancing nursing practice, and supporting the ongoing development of the Emergency Services Division to meet increasing community demand.

This role is responsible for:

- Delivering expert clinical care in UCC and ED settings in line with the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
- Demonstrating advanced clinical leadership and decision-making to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient flow, quality of care, and service delivery.
- Prescribing medications, ordering diagnostics, and referring to other health professionals as authorised.
- Participating in policy development, quality improvement, and clinical research activities to drive innovation and best practice.
- Mentoring and educating staff, promoting the Nurse Practitioner role across the organisation and wider community.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner.
- Master of Nursing (qualifying for NP endorsement).
- Demonstrated experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Emergency and / or Urgent Care settings.




- Advanced clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, safety, and quality improvement.
