Established in 1959, Stoddart has been synonymous with stainless steel, steel and aluminium metal fabrication for over 60 years. We operate out of a state-of the-art facility in the southern suburbs of Brisbane, with an additional network of sales offices and warehouses in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Throughout its evolution, Stoddart has proudly continued to remain a 100% Australian-owned family business.
As a Machine Operator, you will be working with the latest European technology utilised in metal processing. Your role is key in ensuring fabricated parts are made to meet strict deadlines. Initially working with press brakes, as you gain experience you will be cross trained to increase your skills through utilising Stoddart’s structured training programs.
Dayshift - Monday-Thursday 5am-1:30pm and 5am-11am on a Friday
Weekend shift - Friday-Sunday, 5am-5pm
More specifically your duties will include the following:
- Operate a press brake or tube laser cutting machine
- Select correct materials from stock
- Read drawings
- Operate power tools
- Conduct minor machinery maintenance
In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
- Mechanically minded
- Ability to read drawings
- Skilled in using hand and power tools
- Capable of undertaking manual handling relating to the role
- Comply with work health and safety requirements
- Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering degree at a recognised tertiary institution
The following criteria are considered highly regarded:
- Experience in Trumpf machinery
- Current HR LF (Forklift) Licence
