Project Manager – Civil Infrastructure | Mackay Based, Bowen Basin Projects

Queensland Complete Contracting Services (QCCS) is a premier civil construction contractor delivering critical infrastructure across Central Queensland. With a strong pipeline of multi-year framework contracts across mining, heavy industrial and rail infrastructure, we're seeking an autonomous, driven Project Manager to take full ownership of our civil project delivery from mobilisation to closeout.

A realistic look at the role: this is a Mackay-based position, not FIFO. Your home and your base are here. That said, our projects are spread across the Bowen Basin, so you'll be on site where the work demands it — including DIDO travel and nights in camp during key stages of delivery. Camp and meals are covered when you're out. Most weeks you're home; during a critical pour or a mobilisation, you're on the ground with your crew.

About the Role

Reporting to the senior management team, you will drive the execution of multiple civil packages across our project portfolio — bulk earthworks, drainage,



and specialised structural concrete remediation on established Tier-1 mine sites and heavy industrial assets. You will be the primary point of contact for client representatives, ensuring milestones are hit safely, on time and on budget

Key Responsibilities

- Safety and Quality Leadership — Champion a zero-harm culture, ensuring strict compliance with both QCCS and asset-specific safety management plans.

- Project Delivery & Execution — Manage variations, cost tracking and financial reporting from mobilisation through to client handover.

- Site Presence — Be visible on site through mobilisation, critical works and closeout, with office-based delivery management from Mackay between site commitments.

- Commercial & Tender Support — Partner with the commercial team to review scopes, assist with estimating, prepare quotes, and proactively mitigate delivery risks.

- People Leadership — Lead, mentor and set explicit expectations for Site Supervisors running 5/2 DIDO crews across multiple sites, while managing subcontractor and vendor engagement.

- Resource & Plant Coordination — Work with the plant and maintenance team to ensure equipment, materials and crews are planned and available to avoid delays and maintain efficiency.

- Stakeholder Facilitation — Build and maintain transparent, high-level relationships with client superintendents and key stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

You will bring a strong track record of delivering civil or industrial construction projects,



ideally within heavy industrial or resource-sector environments.

- Proven Project Management Experience — 3+ years’ running civil projects within the mining, civil or construction industry as a Project Manager, or a highly experienced Senior Engineer / Site Supervisor ready to step up.

- Commercial Acumen — Strong capability managing project financials, budgets, variations and claims.

- Leadership Capability — Ability to lead teams, mentor Site Supervisors, and build positive client relationships.

- Technical Skills & Industry Knowledge — Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management and prioritisation skills, complemented by a strong understanding of civil construction methods and industry standards. Solid knowledge of safety systems and risk management practices.

- Tickets: Current C-class Licence, Construction White Card and G189 Supervisors Certificate.

- Local Focus — Currently residing in, or willing to permanently relocate to, the Mackay / Central Queensland region.

- Comfortable with Site Travel — Willing to travel to Bowen Basin sites and stay in camp as project requirements dictate.

Highly Regarded

- Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (company assistance available).

- G2 Certificate

- Prior experience on major asset sites, coal terminals, or Bowen Basin mine sites.
