Our Foster Care Program places children and young people in alternate placement options with foster carers when they are unable to live with their birth family.
This exciting prospect is to join our Foster Care Team in the position of Out of Home Care Key Practitioner. The primary focus of this role will be the provision of a range of services to children, young people, foster carers and alongside key stakeholders like DFFH Child Protection:
- Part-time flexibility
- One day a week work from home hybrid arrangements
- Located in Dandenong

The Position:
- To actively participate in the work undertaken to attract to the agency a broad range of volunteers who are wanting to work with the agency in the provision of high-quality services in role of carers or other community support.
- To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to ensure that the volunteers wanting to work with the agency are trained and assessed in line with agency policy, registration standards or other legislative requirements.
- To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to ensure that once engaged in the work that the volunteer/s, having been assessed as being appropriate for, are effectively supported through ongoing contact, training and recognition to maintain their knowledge and enthusiasm for the work.
- To work in conjunction with the Team Leader to ensure that all records/databases as required are maintained (or developed as necessary) to provide accurate information to allow program development and effective work practices.
-To work on the intake space of the program placing children in foster care homes with appropriate matching requirements.
-Supporting newly established foster care placements with case management responsibilities.
To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:
• Required:
- Diploma of Community Services, Youth Services or similar.
- Full Victorian Drivers Licence.
Desirable:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level.
- Shared Lives and Step by Step Certification.
