Troocoo is seeking an experienced Privacy & Compliance Advisor to join a large government organisation, providing specialist advice and end-to-end management of complex privacy matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced privacy professional who is confident interpreting legislation, managing sensitive complaints and incidents, and providing clear, risk-informed advice to senior stakeholders. The role operates at a senior level and will support sound, compliant and defensible decision-making across the organisation.

The Role
Working within a specialist governance and privacy function, you will manage a broad range of privacy matters including complaints, data breaches, compliance advice and organisational improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:

- Managing complex privacy complaints, incidents and data breach assessments
- Providing specialist advice on privacy legislation, case law, policies and best practice
- Supporting responses to data breaches, including obligations under the Mandatory Data Breach Notification scheme
- Investigating privacy matters and preparing recommendations, briefs and correspondence
- Identifying privacy risks, trends and opportunities to strengthen processes and controls
- Drafting policies, reports, submissions, assessments and executive correspondence




- Providing privacy guidance and education to stakeholders across the organisation
- Supporting privacy-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.

About You

- Strong practical experience in privacy compliance and privacy complaints
- Sound knowledge of relevant privacy legislation and regulatory requirements
- Experience investigating and assessing complex or sensitive privacy matters
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review large amounts of information and determine appropriate actions
- Ability to translate complex legislative or technical information into clear, practical advice
- Strong written communication skills, including briefs, reports and correspondence
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders while maintaining discretion and confidentiality
- Experience within a large, highly regulated organisation, with Local or State Government experience highly regarded.

Hourly Rate
$74+ 12% Super p/h
Contract dates: ASAP start - end of November.
