The Opportunity
Reporting into senior leadership, you will take full responsibility for the management of facility operations, maintenance services, compliance obligations, and contractor performance across a highly regulated pharmaceutical site.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team while ensuring facilities operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with GMP, GxP, pharmaceutical regulations, Australian Standards and client requirements.





This role requires a strategic leader who can balance operational excellence, stakeholder engagement, financial accountability and compliance while driving a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

- Lead the day-to-day delivery of all facility management services
- Oversee hard and soft services including maintenance, cleaning, grounds, pest management and associated IFM services
- Ensure critical infrastructure remains operational and compliant at all times
- Drive service delivery performance and continuous improvement initiatives

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP, Australian Standards and all relevant regulatory requirements
- Develop, implement and review facility management procedures and SOPs
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments
- Maintain a strong safety culture aligned with Equans policies and client expectations

Asset & Maintenance Management

- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems and critical infrastructure
- Manage CMMS systems and maintenance programs
- Drive asset performance, reliability and lifecycle planning

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, mentor and develop facility personnel and contractors
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety and operational excellence
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the site

Financial Management

- Develop and manage operational budgets
- Monitor costs and identify efficiency opportunities
- Deliver projects and improvement initiatives within budget and timeline requirements

Project Delivery

- Manage facility upgrades, refurbishments and capital works
- Coordinate contractors and project teams




- Ensure projects meet compliance, safety and quality requirement.

About You
You are a proven Facilities Management leader with a strong track record managing complex facilities within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, biotechnology, or other highly regulated environments.

You combine strong technical knowledge with outstanding leadership capability and have a passion for delivering safe, compliant and high-performing facilities.

To Be Successful You Will Have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, Business or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Facilities Management leadership roles
- Experience within a highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of GMP, GxP and compliance frameworks
- Excellent understanding of Australian Standards and facility management best practice
- Demonstrated experience managing large maintenance and operational budgets
- Robust contractor and stakeholder management capability
- Experience using CMMS systems, preferably Maximo
- Outstanding communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Australian working rights
- Ability to successfully complete a National Police Check

Highly Regarded

- Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
- Facility Management Professional (FMP)
- Experience managing pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities
