About the role
Working closely with project leadership, supervisors and crews, you will provide practical, day-to-day HSE advice and support. You will help the project manage risk, strengthen safe work practices and meet legislative, client and Hicks requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical WHS advice and support to project teams
- Conduct site inspections, observations and risk assessments
- Coach supervisors, leading hands and crews in safe work practices
- Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and human factors
- Assist with audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and individual coaching
- Support compliance with WHS legislation and project requirements
- Promote compliance with the Hicks Safety Management System and applicable ISO standards
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reporting and administration
- Build collaborative working relationships across the project
About you
- Relevant WHS qualifications
- FIFO experience
- Previous HSE experience in civil construction, mining or bulk earthworks
- Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk-management practices
- Practical and collaborative approach to supporting project teams
- Experience with inspections, investigations, audits and corrective actions
- Solid communication, coaching and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
