Run the day. Improve the way we work.

The opportunity

UBEECO Packaging Solutions is looking for a hands-on production leader to supervise day-shift operations and lead practical continuous improvement at our Erskine Park site. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will balance daily production delivery with structured problem-solving, controlled trials and sustained operational improvements.

This is not a desk-only continuous improvement role. You will be visible on the floor, working with team leaders and operators to improve safety, quality, service, labour productivity, waste and downtime.

What you'll be responsible for

• Lead assigned day-shift production activities, allocate labour and coordinate workflow to meet the production plan.

• Deliver work safely, on time and to specification, escalating constraints and risks early.

• Coach team leaders and operators, maintain the skills matrix and support structured cross-training.

• Use production boards and operating data to compare actual performance with agreed standards and targets.

• Maintain effective control of materials and WIP within production, and manage any inventory category assigned by the Production Manager, including stock accuracy, usage, ageing, excess holdings and variance follow-up.

• Identify improvement opportunities using productivity, labour, downtime, waste, rework and quality data.

• Establish baselines, lead approved trials, measure results and recommend permanent changes to the Production Manager.

• Embed standard work, 5S and visual management so improvements are sustained across shifts.

• Support new machinery, automation and process changes, including operator input, trials, training and handover.

• Maintain a practical improvement register and report progress,

benefits, risks and follow-up actions.

What you'll bring

• At least three years of production or manufacturing supervisory experience.

• Demonstrated experience leading improvements that delivered measurable operational results.

• The ability to lead a medium-sized team in a fast-paced, made-to-order environment.

• Strong production planning, labour allocation and workflow coordination skills.

• A practical understanding of WHS, quality control and root-cause problem-solving.

• Confidence using Excel and an ERP or manufacturing system such as Microsoft Dynamics.

• A current forklift licence, or the ability to obtain one.

Highly regarded

• Experience in timber, industrial packaging or a similar manufacturing environment.

• Formal training in Lean, continuous improvement or Six Sigma.

• Hands-on experience with 5S, standard work, visual management and structured problem-solving.

• Experience controlling WIP or managing an inventory category within a manufacturing environment.

• Experience supporting machinery, automation or production process changes.

Why join UBEECO?

• A visible role with the chance to shape how the site operates and improves.

• A practical environment where good ideas are tested, measured and embedded.

• Direct partnership with the Production Manager and cross-functional teams.

• A stable, full-time role with a predominantly day-shift focus.

• A competitive salary package based on experience.

Apply

If you are a production leader who enjoys developing people and turning operational problems into measurable results, we would like to hear from you.

Please include a brief example of an improvement you led, the problem you addressed and the measurable result achieved.
