About us:

Capricornia Offender Health Service provides quality healthcare to inmates at Capricornia Correctional Centre — from urgent and emergency care to chronic disease management, preventative health and planned care.

As part of Central Queensland Health, we work together to improve health, reduce inequalities and support rehabilitation. Our goal is to help people be healthier, feel better and be better prepared for their return to the community.

About the role:

As a Nurse Practitioner with Capricornia Offender Health Service, you'll provide advanced clinical care and specialist leadership within the Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) Program. Working within your credentialed scope of practice, you'll use your advanced nursing knowledge to assess, diagnose and develop evidence-based treatment plans, provide direct patient care and manage complex clinical needs across the correctional health setting.

This role goes beyond individual patient care, providing clinical leadership across the OST service. You'll lead clinical decision-making, coordinate complex care, support safe and efficient treatment delivery, and provide specialist advice and consultancy to patients and staff. You'll also mentor colleagues, contribute to education and professional development, drive quality and safety initiatives, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support best-practice outcomes.

About you:

- You're an NMBA-endorsed Nurse Practitioner via AHPRA with a Master's in Nursing, no restrictions to practice, and strong advanced clinical experience — ideally in OST/ODT, Mental Health, AOD or a related specialty.
- You're comfortable working autonomously, managing complex physical and mental health needs, assessing, diagnosing,

prescribing and developing person-centred care plans across a range of clinical situations.
- You bring strong communication, problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate patients and teams while championing safe, evidence-based care and positive change.
- You're passionate about education, research and continuous improvement, using data and evidence to shape better practice, improve outcomes and drive innovation.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $188,603 p.a. is comprised of:

- An hourly rate between $79.85 - $83.37 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading

Extra benefits:

- Ongoing Professional Development and Education Opportunities
- Locality Allowance
- Post Graduate Allowance
- Versatile Work-Life Balance and Variety
- Generous Salary Sacrificing Options
