About the role

This is an apprenticeship opportunity in Heavy Diesel Mechanics. You will assist with servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy diesel vehicles and equipment, working alongside qualified mechanics to learn correct mechanical procedures and techniques.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with servicing, maintenance and repairs of heavy diesel vehicles and equipment

- Work alongside qualified mechanics and learn correct mechanical procedures and techniques

- Assist with inspections, fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues

- Carry out basic servicing and mechanical tasks as directed

- Assist with repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers and earthmoving equipment

- Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean, organised and maintained

- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and use PPE correctly

- Learn to read and follow workshop manuals,



instructions and job requirements

- Report any faults, damage, hazards or issues to your supervisor

- Complete TAFE and apprenticeship training requirements and apply what you learn on the job

About you

- Current driver's licence

- Own reliable transport to and from work/job sites

- Genuine interest in pursuing a career in Heavy Diesel Mechanics

- Willingness to learn and take direction

- Reliable and committed work ethic

- Ability to pass any required pre-employment checks, if applicable

- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and outdoors when required

- Reliable, punctual and hard-working

- Can work both independently and as part of a team

- Respectful and qualified
