Founded in 1916, RSL NSW is a member-based veterans’ charity. Our purpose is to support veterans and their families through advocacy, and by connecting them to services that improve their wellbeing. We also foster connection through camaraderie, recreation and commemoration within local communities.

RSL NSW does not operate clubs or poker machines, and RSL NSW and its sub-Branches are separate entities from RSL Clubs.

We are looking for a self-starter with a passion for working with communities to join our Community Relations team.

What You Will Do

Focusing on the Far South Coast region of NSW, you will represent RSL NSW and build strong relationships with sub-Branches, the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs) and local service providers across the region, spanning from Nowra to the Victorian border and west to Cooma.

You will play a key role in helping veterans and their families access services, programs and support available in their local community.

In this role, you will:

- Build and maintain trusted relationships with sub-Branches, ADF, ESOs and local service providers





- Act as a key local contact for veteran engagement and support

- Promote RSL NSW programs, services and initiatives within the community

- Support sub-Branches and volunteers to connect veterans and families with the right services

- Maintain a strong understanding of local needs, challenges and service availability

- Share insights and feedback to support continuous improvement

- Attend community events, meetings and activities, and contribute to local engagement initiatives

You will collaborate with other Community Relations Partners across NSW to share knowledge, insights and best practice, as part of a growing team supporting local engagement and delivery.

This role requires regular travel across the Far South Coast, including key communities such as Nowra, Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma, Bega, Eden, and Cooma. Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Who You Are

You are someone who enjoys working with people and building relationships in the community. You are confident working independently and take ownership of your work.

You may have lived experience of the veteran community, or an understanding of veteran-related issues through personal or professional experience.

You will bring:

- Experience engaging with community groups, stakeholders or service providers

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills

- The ability to work independently and manage your time across a regional area

- A proactive approach and ability to problem solve





- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

- A genuine interest in supporting veterans and their families

Experience working in community services, not-for-profit or volunteer-led environments will be highly regarded.

A current NSW driver’s licence is required.
