The Contract Recruiter is responsible for the end-to-end screening of candidates for Essjay Contracting's operational workforce, managing inbound and outbound candidate calls, and exercising independent judgement to assess candidate suitability and cultural/operational fit. The role delivers a shortlist of qualified candidates to HR for further interview, ensuring only appropriately assessed candidates progress in the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inbound candidate enquiries and make outbound calls

• Conduct structured phone-based screening interviews with candidates

• Verify relevant licences, tickets, and experience required for the role being recruited

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate records and call outcomes

• Communicate outcomes professionally and promptly to all candidates, including unsuccessful applicants





Key Requirements

• Strong phone/virtual-based communication and interviewing skills

• High emotional intelligence and confidence exercising independent judgement on candidate fit

• Ability to work autonomously and reliably in a remote, unsupervised setting

• Familiarity with Monday.com or comparable platforms (desirable)

• ABN Essential

Working Arrangements

• Engaged as an independent contractor at an agreed hourly rate

• Work is performed remotely from home

• Essjay will supply a laptop and mobile phone for the duration of the engagement

• Hours and workload to be agreed with HR based on current recruitment demand
