Mt Gravatt Community Centre

Mount Gravatt

Mt Gravatt Community Centre Inc is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation delivering a range of services and programs that support people and strengthen our local community.

We are looking for an organised, capable and people-centred Employment & Training Programs Coordinator to coordinate two programs that help people build skills, gain qualifications and move into employment.

The role

This is a hands-on role where you'll work alongside participants from their first enquiry through to achieving their training and employment goals.

You'll be responsible for:

- Recruiting participants, coordinating promotional activities, conducting intakes and managing enrolments

- Supporting participants throughout their qualification and helping them stay engaged and make progress

- Delivering employment readiness training, including resumes, job searching and interview skills

- Supporting participants to identify and pursue suitable employment opportunities

- Liaising with employers, training providers, community organisations and other partners

- Coordinating program activities, schedules and requirements

- Maintaining accurate participant records, case notes and documentation

- Completing reporting and meeting program and funding requirements

- Working towards participant, training and employment targets and KPIs

The role combines people, program delivery and project coordination. You'll have responsibility for coordinating your programs end to end, from participant recruitment and program delivery through to reporting, targets and outcomes. You'll need to be someone who can build trust and provide practical support while also taking ownership of recruitment, program activities, administration, reporting, timelines and targets.

About you

You're a people person, and you're also highly organised.

You enjoy working directly with people,

build rapport easily and can provide practical support while keeping participants focused on their goals.

You also like having plenty happening. You're good at managing competing priorities, coordinating projects and working out what needs to happen next. You're methodical, comfortable with administration and detail, and take pride in getting things done properly and efficiently.

You're motivated by outcomes and aren't intimidated by targets or KPIs. You enjoy having clear goals and working out how to achieve them.

You might come from a human services, community services, employment, training or program coordination background. A relevant qualification is desirable but not essential, we're interested in your capability, experience and approach.

What you'll bring

- The ability to coordinate programs, take ownership of your responsibilities and know when to seek advice or support

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Robust organisation and time management skills

- Strong administration and attention to detail

- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment

- Initiative, problem solving skills and a practical approach

- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload

- Experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds

- Experience in employment, training, human services, community services or program coordination is highly regarded

- Experience delivering training or facilitating groups is highly regarded

- Experience with Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW)

or similar programs is desirable, but not essential

About the programs

The role includes coordinating two SQW programs — delivering Ready for Work through MGCCI and coordinating a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance delivered in partnership with an RTO.

You don't need previous SQW experience to apply. What matters is that you can build strong relationships with participants, coordinate programs effectively and work towards measurable training and employment outcomes.

Why join MGCCI?

At MGCCI, you'll be part of a community-focused organisation where the work you do has a direct and practical impact.

You'll have genuine ownership of your programs and the opportunity to see the difference your work makes, from helping someone enrol in training, supporting them through a qualification and building their job-readiness skills, through to seeing them move into employment.

We offer:

- A supportive and collaborative team environment

- A varied role with genuine ownership and autonomy

- Meaningful work with real community impact

- Professional development opportunities

- Salary packaging benefits of up to $18,500 per year

- Remuneration aligned with the SCHADS Award, based on experience and qualifications

How to apply

All applications must be submitted via SEEK. Please provide a current resume along with a cover letter (no more than 2 pages) outlining your suitability against the essential role requirements listed above and why you're interested in the role.

Early applications are encouraged as we will review applications as they are received.
