Job Overview

Our Federal Government client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and maintain data pipelines and curated datasets within their analytics platform, powering high-quality analytics and data-driven decision-making. This role involves complex, sensitive work and requires sound judgement and independent decision-making under broad direction to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform and publish data into the Agency analytics platforms.
- Develop and optimise data models and curated datasets to support reporting, analytics and data science use cases.
- Establish and maintain solid data quality practices, including monitoring, validation, and issue resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis of data issues and implement sustainable fixes to improve reliability and trust in data assets.
- Provide expert advice on complex data engineering issues and contribute to strategic direction within the team.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment,



and ongoing support of the analytics platform and associated tooling.
- Apply modern data engineering practices, including testing, automation, and performance optimisation across data pipelines.
- Experience in Dynamics 365 would be an added advantage.
