Our client is developing a major copper and gold mining project in Western Australia’s Paterson Province, focused on responsible resource development, advanced mining practices and long-term regional benefits.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the delivery of a major mining and minerals processing project. Based in Perth, you will provide technical oversight and coordination across civil, structural, and infrastructure design activities, ensuring engineering solutions are safe, practical, and aligned with project requirements.

Working closely with engineering contractors, OEMs, and project stakeholders, you will review designs, manage technical interfaces, identify risks, and support project delivery from detailed design through to execution readiness.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical oversight of civil and structural design activities

- Review earthworks, drainage, road, foundation, concrete, and structural steel designs

- Support bulk earthworks planning, cut/fill strategies, and platform development

- Manage interfaces across process plant, infrastructure, utilities, and supporting facilities

- Review foundation designs for major equipment, buildings, tanks, and conveyors

- Review structural steel and materials handling infrastructure designs

- Review quantity take-offs and material take-off documentation

- Identify design risks, constructability issues, and improvement opportunities

- Coordinate technical reviews with contractors, consultants, and project teams





- Review and respond to technical queries and requests for information

- Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, constructability workshops, and readiness reviews

Skills and Experience Required

- Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering

- Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar engineering role

- Experience delivering large-scale mining, minerals processing, or industrial projects

- Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles

- Experience reviewing earthworks, concrete, and structural steel designs

- Knowledge of infrastructure interfaces across complex project environments

- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical coordination skills

- Experience working with EPC or EPCM contractors

- Bulk earthworks experience (highly regarded)

- Ability to identify engineering risks and drive practical solutions

- Valid Drivers Licence
