Unit Description:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of the largest Cancer Care centres in Australasia and also operates as a Level I trauma centre. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department forms an integral part of the organisation. The Head of Unit, along with several other senior experienced OMFS consultants provide oversight and teaching to all OMFS Registrars. The OMFS Department plays a significant role in the RMH Head and Neck Unit, providing management and treatment for patients with Head and Neck oncology.
About the role:
The Royal Melbourne Hospital Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a six-month, full-time role, in which the suitable candidate can develop further subspecialty training in complex orthognathic and facial trauma surgery.
Led by Associate Professor Alf Nastri, the fellowship aims to provide the candidate with a broad range of clinical experiences across both public and private healthcare settings,
with direct involvement in the planning and provision of surgical treatment.
Applicants for this role must have the appropriate qualifications in OMS (i.e. FRACDS(OMS) or equivalent) and obtain registration with the Medical or Dental Board of Australia
About You:
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)
- Registration with (or eligible for registration with) the Dental Board of Australia
- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Ability to work in a team
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills
