Kimberley Regional Service Providers Pty Ltd (KRSP) delivers essential services, capital works and municipal services to Indigenous communities across Western Australia’s remote Kimberley region.
KRSP manages and maintains power, water and wastewater infrastructure across remote communities, while also delivering critical maintenance and capital works that support the ongoing reliability of essential services and improve the quality of life of the communities we serve.

KRSP is interested in hearing from qualified and experienced Mechanical Fitters who would like to be considered for future opportunities within our Essential Services team.
Please note that this is not an active vacancy. We are inviting expressions of interest from individuals who would like to be considered for upcoming Mechanical Fitter opportunities as they arise.
This role contributes directly to the reliability of critical power generation and essential service infrastructure that supports remote Kimberley communities.
Key responsibilities of the role
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the role focuses on the maintenance of diesel power generation assets and involves:
- Conducting scheduled maintenance on diesel generators within remote power stations.
- Performing preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and maximise asset reliability.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults and equipment failures.
- Responding to unplanned maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Maintaining accurate service records and maintenance documentation.
- Assisting with the servicing and maintenance of water, water treatment and wastewater infrastructure assets.
- Working safely and effectively in remote community environments.
Location and roster
This role typically operates on an 18 days on / 12 days off roster, with flexibility required to meet operational requirements.
Drive-in/Drive-out (DIDO) from Broome to remote Kimberley communities. Kimberley residents are strongly encouraged to apply.
Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) options are available for those residing outside the region.
What you will need
Solid work ethic, integrity, a positive mindset, and adherence to safe work practices.
- Mechanical trade qualification (Diesel Fitter) preferred, or considerable experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
- Minimum 3 years post-trade experience with advanced fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
- Current Light, Medium or Heavy Rigid (LR/MR/HR) Driver's licence.
- Capacity to work in remote locations, including driving on unsealed roads.
- Effective communication and the ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a small team.
- Desirable: First Aid certification, including CPR and LVR.
