About the role
This role offers the opportunity to be part of Australia's first proton therapy centre and support a national comparative planning service for patients across Australia and New Zealand at the Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy & Research (ABCPTR). The role is physically located at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and will suit a radiation therapist with strong treatment planning experience, excellent communication skills and an interest in proton therapy.
Key responsibilities
- Review and refine referral workflows for comparative planning
- Coordinate comparative planning multidisciplinary meetings
- Liaise with referral institutions throughout the planning process
- Develop and review procedures, protocols and supporting documents
- Ensure incoming referrals are managed in a timely manner
- Generate proton treatment plans and written outcome reports
- Contribute to comparative planning projects, research and service improvement
- Maintain professional development and work within AHPRA requirements
About you
- A relevant degree in medical radiation sciences or equivalent
- Current registration with AHPRA
- An EPA licence to operate ionising radiation apparatus
- At least 3 years' experience as a clinical radiation therapist
- Experience or a demonstrated interest in proton therapy
- Experience with advanced radiotherapy treatment planning techniques
- RayStation treatment planning experience, desirable
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- The ability to work autonomously and under limited direction
- Experience developing or reviewing systems, procedures or protocols
