Waste Water Services | Henderson, Perth WA
$50–$52 per hour | Perth Based – No FIFO
Waste Water Services (WWS) is part of Vysarn Limited (ASX: VYS), Australia’s leading vertically integrated water services provider supporting the mining, resources and infrastructure sectors.
Waste Water Services specialises in the design, construction and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, including sewage treatment plants, potable water treatment systems, pump stations, filtration systems and reverse osmosis plants.
Our projects support major clients including BHP, Rio Tinto, Pilbara Minerals and Fortescue, as well as Water Corporation, local governments and regional communities across Western Australia.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for an experienced Trades Assistant to join our workshop team in Henderson.
The Role
This is a hands-on workshop role supporting our tradespeople with the fabrication, assembly and construction of water and wastewater treatment equipment and associated infrastructure.
Based at our Henderson workshop, you will work alongside our boilermakers, welders, electricians and other trades to help build and prepare equipment for our projects across Western Australia.
We aren't looking for someone completely new to the industry. We need an experienced TA who is comfortable in a busy fabrication and construction environment, knows their way around a workshop and can get in and contribute from day one.
This is a Perth-based position with no FIFO requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting tradespeople with the fabrication and assembly of water and wastewater treatment equipment
- Supporting the construction of treatment plants, pipework, skids and associated equipment
- Assisting with fitting, fabrication and general workshop activities
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding and preparing materials for fabrication and assembly
- Assisting with the movement and positioning of materials and equipment
- Reading and working from drawings, measurements and instructions
- Preparing components and work areas for tradespeople
- General workshop and construction duties as required
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
- Working with the team to keep jobs progressing and meet project deadlines
- Following WWS safety procedures and maintaining a safe and organised workshop
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with proven Trades Assistant experience in a workshop, fabrication, mechanical, construction or similar industrial setting.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant in a fabrication, mechanical or construction environment
- Strong practical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience with grinders, drills, saws and other common workshop equipment
- The ability to confidently measure and prepare materials
- The ability to read and interpret basic fabrication or construction drawings
- A good understanding of workshop and construction safety requirements
- A strong work ethic and willingness to get involved wherever required
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A reliable and proactive approach to work
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
Experience supporting boilermakers, welders, mechanical fitters, plumbers or electricians will be highly regarded.
Previous exposure to water infrastructure, pipework, pumps, mechanical equipment, structural fabrication or treatment plants would also be advantageous.
What We Offer
- $50–$52 per hour, depending on experience
- Henderson workshop – no FIFO
- Consistent work with a strong pipeline of projects
- Hands-on involvement in the construction of major water infrastructure
- Work alongside experienced tradespeople and project teams
- Opportunities to broaden your skills and develop within the business
- Long-term career opportunities as Waste Water Services and the broader Vysarn Group continue to grow
Working With Us
This isn't a role where you'll spend your day standing around waiting to be given something to do.
Our Henderson workshop is responsible for building and preparing equipment that goes directly onto operational water and wastewater projects. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can see what needs doing and is willing to get stuck in and help the team get the job done.
You'll be working on real project equipment from day one and will gain exposure to a variety of fabrication, mechanical, piping and treatment plant construction activities.
For an experienced TA looking for well paid, consistent Perth based work without FIFO, this is an opportunity to join a growing business with a strong project pipeline.
How to Apply
If you're an experienced Trades Assistant with a strong work ethic and practical workshop experience, we'd like to hear from you.
