abrs is currently partnering with a NSW Government department to recruit an experienced Triage and Assessment Officer for a casual engagement, 35 hours per week based in Parramatta. This role would suit candidates with skills in crisis response, communication and intake within child protection, aged care, disability or domestic violence.

About the role:

- Conduct triage and assessment of reports relating to abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable adults.
- Assess risk and coordinate appropriate referrals, supports and early intervention responses.
- Liaise with service providers, families and multidisciplinary stakeholders to support client safety and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate case documentation, records and assessment reports in line with policy and legislation.
- Respond to complex and emotionally sensitive matters using a person-centred and trauma informed approach

Requirements:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in a related field.
- Experience assessing complex and sensitive matters involving vulnerable people.
- Strong risk assessment, triage and decision-making skills.
- Ability to provide person-centred advice,



support and referrals.
- Robust case documentation, record keeping and information management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with government, community services, families, carers and other stakeholders.
- Strong communication, judgement, resilience and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to work within legislation, policy and evidence-based practice.
