Australia's leading manufacturer of pressure vessels and heat exchangers, supplying high-quality fabricated equipment for industrial applications, urgently require an experienced Pressure Welder to join the manufacturing team.

Their workshop carries out pressure welding and fabrication using GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick) and SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) processes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for pressure welding and fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and associated components, with a strong focus on GTAW and SMAW welding processes
.
Responsibilities include:

- Performing high-quality GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding on pressure equipment.
- Welding carbon steel, stainless steel and other materials as required.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, weld procedures and fabrication documentation.
- Preparing joints, fit-up and welding components to required specifications.
- Working in accordance with approved welding procedures and quality requirements.
- Carrying out visual inspection and ensuring welds meet required standards.
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and workshop safety.
- Working closely with fitters, boilermakers, supervisors and quality personnel.
- Maintaining welding equipment and keeping the work area clean and organised.

Requirements:





- Proven experience in GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding.
- Experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping or other pressure equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds in different positions.
- Good understanding of welding procedures, drawings and fabrication requirements.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good safety awareness and a positive attitude.

Boilermaker fabrication experience is an advantage but not essential.

Experience working with pressure equipment and welding to recognised standards highly regarded.
