About The Role
Our client is a leading Australian structural steel fabricator, renowned for delivering complex, large-scale commercial and industrial structural solutions across Victoria. Operating out of a state-of-the-art facility in Somerton, we take pride in precision craftsmanship, workplace safety, and a strong team culture.

We are currently seeking experienced Structural Steel Fabricators with strong MIG welding expertise to join our clients busy Somerton workshop. To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience reading workshop drawings and fabricating structural steel components for commercial and industrial projects.

This role is ideal for trade-qualified tradespeople looking for a high-earning, fast-paced environment with consistent hours (approx. 60 hours per week) and a clear pathway to permanent employment.

Pay Rate & Hours

$54.86/hr + Super + Weekly Overtime
Day Shift Monday - Friday 6am -2.30pm





Key Responsibilities

- Fabricate and assemble structural steel components from technical workshop drawings.
- Mark out, cut, prep, tack, and fit heavy structural steel beams, columns, and trusses.
- Maintain tight tolerances and adhere to strict quality control standards.
- Operate workshop machinery including overhead cranes, bandsaws, and plasma cutters.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and effective workshop footprint.

What We Are Looking For

- Experience: Proven background in structural steel fabrication (Boilermaker/1st Class Welder equivalent).
- Technical Skills: You must be able to read and interpret structural drawings independently.
- Precision: High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Fitness: Physically fit and strong hand-eye coordination
- Reliability: A strong work ethic with the ability to handle a physically demanding role.
- Flexibility: Ability to work independently and in a team
- Availability: Ready to commit to a Monday–Friday day shift with a willingness to take on significant overtime.
