About the Role

As the 2IC at our busy Mandurah practice, you will play a critical role in supporting both the clinical and administrative functions of the practice. Working closely with the Practice Manager, you will help lead the team, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

This role is ideal for an experienced dental professional who enjoys a combination of leadership, reception, dental assisting, and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Support

- Support, guide, and motivate team members.

- Assist in fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

- Train, coach, and provide feedback to team members.

- Act as the manager's delegate and take responsibility for the team when the Practice Manager is absent.





Practice Operations

- Assist with the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the practice.

- Support the Practice Manager with administration, planning, rostering, reporting, and problem-solving.

- Monitor team performance and ensure practice policies and procedures are followed.

- Manage stock levels, ordering, equipment, and practice resources.

Patient Experience

- Deliver outstanding customer service and patient care.

- Manage front reception duties, including patient inquiries, appointments, and payments.

- Handle escalated patient concerns and complaints professionally and efficiently.

- Maintain effective communication between the clinical and administrative teams.

Compliance & Safety

- Support workplace health and safety procedures and compliance requirements.

- Maintain high standards of infection control and practice presentation.

Skills & Experience

Essential

- Minimum 2 years' experience within the dental industry.

- Previous Front Reception experience combined with Dental Assisting experience.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.





- Sound computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment.

- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Desirable

- Experience using Dental4Windows (D4W) software.

- Applicants without D4W experience are encouraged to apply, as training will be provided for the right candidate.

- Previous leadership, senior receptionist, treatment coordinator, or team lead experience.

- Confident working autonomously and making decisions when required.

- Adaptable, proactive, and solutions focused.

- Available to work alternate Saturdays.
