Mechanical Drafter, South-East Suburbs of Melbourne | Temporary assignment

Your new company

An established manufacturer based in Melbourne's south-east is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its engineering team on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and updating engineering drawings, managing bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting continuous product improvement initiatives.

Your new role

- Update and maintain 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software
- Create and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Manage engineering change requests and drawing revisions
- Maintain engineering documentation and product data
- Support manufacturing and production teams with technical documentation
- Ensure drawings and BOMs accurately reflect current product configurations
- Assist with continuous improvement and product enhancement projects
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and service departments

What you'll need to succeed

- Experience in a Mechanical Designer, Mechanical Drafter, CAD Designer, or similar role




- Proficiency in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
- Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- High level of attention to detail and document control discipline
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Solid communication and teamwork skills
