The Project Engineer/Estimator contributes to project planning and delivery and undertakes technical engineering tasks and comprehensive cost calculations for civil construction projects, including the Ausgrid Poles and Line construction programme.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time Location: Wetherill Park, NSW Reporting Line: Project ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with technical submissions, schedules, value engineering and constructability reviewsCoordinate between site operations and project managementContract administration (including project communications, document management and records management)Monitor progress/performance against safety, time, cost and quality targets and report to project managementMonitor delivery against scope / contract obligationsAssist in submission of all documents required at completion such as as-builts, manuals etcPlan and create technical drawings, layouts and models for civil construction projectsEnsure all plans meet regulatory compliance requirementsVisit sites to check design feasibility as requiredAssist project management to resolve on-site challengesUse software for data analysis, forecasting and budgetingBenchmark project estimates against historical and industry data and internal / external indicesCreate and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate personsAbout You2-5 years of combined experience in project engineering and cost estimationPrevious experience within the relevant and local utilities workplace (advantageous).
