This involves application of a risk‐based framework that ensures appropriate and optimal engagement is undertaken throughout key stages of major project life‐cycles, with particular focus on high‐consequence hazards.As a WorkSafe Inspector, you'll complete a training program designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to succeed in a regulatory environment.Once appointed, you'll spend much of your time visiting workplaces, assessing workplace safety, investigating concerns and helping organisations meet their legal obligations.No two days are the same.
You will:Inspect workplaces and assess compliance with occupational health and safety legislationInvestigate incidents,



hazards and safety concernsProvide practical advice and guidance to employers and workersInfluence positive workplace safety outcomesBuild productive relationships with stakeholdersTake appropriate regulatory action when requiredContribute to safer workplaces across VictoriaAbout YouOur Inspectors come from diverse professional backgrounds but share a common goal: ensuring every worker returns home safely at the end of the day.You will ideally bring:A robust technical and practical knowledge of construction and understanding of the application of design, operational systems, processes and procedures to reduce the incidence and severity of injury and disease associated with the industry's typical plant, equipment and processes.A systems‐thinking approach through experience and/or applicationStrong critical thinking, analytical and problem‐solving skillsThe ability to assess situations and make sound decisions under pressureExcellent influencing, negotiation and conflict resolution skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to interpret and apply legislation, standards or technical informationConfidence using technology and computer systemsQualifications in occupational health and safety, compliance, a trade, technical discipline or relevant industry experience are desirable but not essentialMost importantly, you'll be passionate about making a positive difference and committed to improving workplace safety outcomes.Recruitment & Training ProcessWe invest heavily in developing our Inspectors through a structured recruitment and onboarding experience.Indicative Recruitment TimelineApplications Close: Monday 14th September at 11:00pmOnline Video Interviews, Cognitive & Psychometric Assessments: Late SeptemberPanel Interviews: October/NovemberPolice, Reference & Medical Checks: November/DecemberOffers & Contracts: DecemberEmployment Commencement:
